8 Spring Date Ideas You'll Love

Flowers for Earth Day

Spring is the perfect season for a date. It's warm enough to get outside but not so hot that you're dying from heatstroke.

Plus, there are plenty of things to do in spring that don't involve sweating profusely or wearing layers upon layers of clothing (Those are some terrible things).

Spring is just the right amount of romance for those who want to start a budding romance with someone special or rekindle an old flame!

1. Visit a Zoo

Spring Date zoo idea

You don't have to be a zoo buff to appreciate the educational benefits of visiting one. A trip to the zoo can be great for learning about animals and their habitats, as well as conservation efforts. Wear something to match the theme!

Plus, it's fun! You get to see an animal up close (and sometimes even touch them), which is something you'd never get in the wild. It's also lovely because zoos are generally pretty easy places for couples.

There aren't any awkward waits for rides or lines at restaurants; instead, you can stroll along at your own pace while taking in all of nature's wonders before your eyes!

2. Have a Picnic at the Beach or by a Pond

A picnic is perfect for spring weather and saves money on your date night. If you're going for a beach or pond picnic, pack your food in Tupperware containers that can be easily transported. Bring some reusable plastic forks and knives so there will be less waste at night's end!

If it's warm enough where you live (and if not, why aren't we friends?), eating outside is always fun because it allows for more intimate conversation than sitting inside at a restaurant or bar. Plus, who doesn't love picnics? They're cheap and easy ways of bringing nature into our urban lives without having to leave town entirely, and they look great in pictures!

3. Take a Hike

Hiking is a fantastic way to connect with your partner. It's fun to spend time together outside in nature. Hiking can also help improve your mental health by helping you find peace, which can be hard when you live in a busy city like New York City or Los Angeles. Hiking is popular, and it's easy to see why: It's an inexpensive way to have fun with your date, help you relax, enjoy nature and improve your physical health.

4. Get Some Fresh Air Together by Going for a Run or Walk

Running and walking for spring date

Going for a run is perfect for those looking to enjoy the sunshine together. Not only will you both be working up a sweat, but there's also something about running at night or in the morning that feels romantic and adventurous.

You can even make it more fun by trying out new parks or trails in your area and ensuring they're safe! Your partner might not be as good at running as you are (or vice versa), so don't forget how much fun it is when they beat their personal bests!

If you're looking to get off the couch, try going for a walk. Not only does walking help keep your heart healthy and strong, and provides an excellent opportunity to talk about your day or enjoy each other's company.

Ensure you have the right gear to make running comfortable!

5. Go to the Garden Center or Nursery

While you're there, ask the staff what they recommend for your yard. They'll be able to tell you which plants and flowers will thrive in your climate and advise you on how to care for them once planted.

Plus, it's fun to get ideas from other people passionate about gardening!
Check out your local garden center for ideas. These stores are filled with beautiful plants and flowers that work well in your climate.

Dress up for the plants here!

6. Visit a Park With Blooming Trees

If you enjoy being outdoors and taking pictures, this is your date! Parks are great places to walk around and admire the trees as they bloom. If you're lucky enough to visit during spring (when most parks have their blossoms), it's even more exciting because this time of year brings many beautiful colors to capture on camera.

When you get home, slip into something that shows your love for flowers.

7. Go Horseback Riding for a Date

Horseback riding is a fun activity to do with your loved one. Beginners and experienced riders can enjoy it. Plus, you'll have plenty of opportunities to bond as you learn new skills or help each other along the way! If any horse lovers in your life haven't been on a ride yet this spring (or maybe ever), consider taking them on this fun adventure!

8. Go Swimming!

Pack up your bathing suit and head to your local pool or beach if it's nice outside. You can swim laps together or lounge around in the sun together! Whether you're lounging, floating, or splashing around in the water, there's no reason why you can't look good while doing it. You can rock a one-piece or bikini. Bask in the sun or lay under an umbrella.

Tips for Spring Dates

Whether you want to go somewhere new or explore your neighborhood with fresh eyes, there are plenty of options for exploring together. And if none of these ideas strike your fancy? That's okay; the important thing is that you make time for each other. Make sure to keep these tips in mind!

Don't forget about allergies! Spring is often filled with pollen, so if you or your partner are allergic to pollen or other allergens like grasses or dust mites, be extra careful about where you go (and what activities you do) during your date night. Pack some allergy medicine that your Doctor recommends to be on the safe side!

Even if it's cloudy outside, the sun can still cause burns on your skin. Use sunscreen before you go out on your date, and reapply every few hours. A hat will help protect you from the sun and keep you cooler, while a pair of shades will keep the sun out of your eyes so you can see better. Sunglasses are a good idea even when it isn't sunny out because they can add glamor to any outfit!

Use insect repellent because insects like to buzz around in the springtime, such as mosquitoes, deer flies, and horseflies. Some people may find them annoying, but others may have allergies or asthma triggered by certain insects, so it's best to be safe rather than sorry!
